Der WLAN-Router ASUS RT-N12E hat vier RJ-45-Anschlüsse zur direkten Verkabelung mit Netzwerkgeräten. Für die Vernetzung über WLAN sind zwei externe 2-dBi-Antennen vorhanden, die per 11n-Technologie eine Übertragungsrate von bis zu 300 MBit/s ermöglicht. Die WPS-Funktion (Wi-Fi-Protected-Setup) ermöglicht die Sicherung des WLANs per Knopfdruck. Zudem verbraucht der RT-N12E weniger Strom im Standby-Modus und kann auch an einer Wand aufgehängt werden.
